ZSFG Inpatient Adolescent Behavioral Health Services (BHS)

Project Vision

San Francisco, CA

The ZSFG BHS Project was developed to expand access to specialized behavioral health care for youth ages 12 to 17. The project will transform existing space within Building 5 into a modern inpatient acute psychiatric facility designed to improve treatment capacity, patient care, and clinical outcomes while supporting the growing mental health needs of San Francisco’s youth community. The new facility will include patient rooms, activity areas, therapy spaces, dining facilities, and administrative support areas designed specifically for adolescent behavioral health services.

JBR Partners, Inc., facilitated the project’s kickoff partnering session on August 27, 2025, bringing together project owners, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders to establish a shared vision for success. The session focused on aligning project objectives, defining team expectations, identifying potential challenges, and developing communication strategies to support collaboration throughout design and construction. By fostering open dialogue and early relationship-building, the partnering process established a strong foundation for proactive issue resolution, accountability, and effective coordination as the project advances toward completion.
