Construction Partnering

Construction partnering is a collaborative project management approach used throughout the architecture, engineering, and construction industry to help project teams establish shared goals, improve communication, resolve disputes, and achieve successful project outcomes. Partnering brings together project owners, contractors, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration and accountability throughout the life of a project.

Originally introduced in the early 1980s to reduce litigation and improve productivity, partnering remains a proven methodology for strengthening relationships and supporting successful project delivery.

At JBR Partners, Inc., we view partnering as more than a project management tool—it is a proactive process that fosters trust, accountability, and collaboration among project stakeholders. Through facilitated workshops, issue resolution sessions, performance tracking, and ongoing team development, we help teams address challenges early, strengthen working relationships, and maintain alignment until project completion.

While construction partnering remains a core service, JBR Partners also supports workforce development, community engagement, stakeholder facilitation, and local business participation initiatives that help maximize project and community benefits.

James Bryant and the team at JBR were an indispensable part of our Hunters Point Project team, and allowed us to connect meaningfully and productively with the community and its effective labor and environmental advocates. James has a gift of relating to people from all walks of life, clarifying and resolving conflicts, and helping to find practical solutions that are economically viable and community-focused. James’ gift for working across boundaries helped our project and the community succeed together. The local hiring program designed with JBR worked so well that it became a model for a city and county of San Francisco ordinance and similar programs are now required for all public sector projects.  Ultimately, our project was a transformative improvement to the area, and with JBR’s help, it was also a success by the community.
